Overview
The Formax FD 282 Double-Head Edge Tabber brings revolutionary advances in tabber design to high-volume mail operations. Its dual-head system applies tabs on opposite sides of a mailpiece in a single pass — or on top and side simultaneously — at speeds up to 25,000 pieces per hour, all while meeting current USPS automation requirements.
A fixed head applies tabs along an open edge, while the repositionable head can switch from side tabbing to front (leading-edge) tabbing. The flexible head accommodates flat tabs, small labels, or up to three USPS roll stamps in one pass — useful for tabbing and stamping in the same production step. A digital LCD with lifetime and resettable counters, plus memory for up to 4 recurring jobs, keeps operation simple even as specifications change.
Configurations
The FD 282 ships as a stand-alone unit and is also available with matched feeders for fully synchronized in-line production:
- FD 282SF — paired with a medium-duty synchronized feeder.
- FD 282HF — paired with a heavy-duty friction feeder.
An optional output conveyor and stands are available for either configuration.
